Face Mask Making Fundraiser for the NHS: My time in lockdown
11/6/2020
It’s been great catching up with clients during lockdown and finding out how they are dealing with the challenges Covid-19 has presented.
So, what have I been doing you may ask? Good question. Lockdown has taken me back to the sewing machine and, in particular, to making cotton face masks with all donations going to NHS Charities Together.
This has been an incredible journey with my friend/‘partner in crime’ Melissa Santiago-Val, and our team of industrious volunteers who have together made over 4,000 masks and raised £23,000 – although these figures are increasing every day.
Film maker Colin Ramsay of Dragonlight Films has made a wonderful documentary about the Community Masks 4 NHS project which will become a slice of history I’m sure … ‘What did you do in the Pandemic granny?’
The film shows the community spirit and the efforts (despite being physically distanced) that have made this all possible.
If you'd like to purchase a mask you can do so on my Trash Chic website.
