Taking the pain out of blogging
17/10/2018
At a WIBN Cambridgeshire networking event yesterday we talked about blogging which is a great way to drive visitors to your website and keep yourself in the public eye. That is … as long as the blogs are interesting and of value.
It can be very time-consuming writing blog posts and it doesn’t come naturally to all of us. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the task and underwhelmed by your writing, here are some suggestions.
1. Is there someone else in your organisation that can write? Sometimes a young and fresh approach is called for. My assistant Eden is great with words and has been producing some excellent topical blogs for Catfish.
2. Invite guest bloggers to submit articles. Deborah Kiley, SEO and PPC expert has just written a piece on Pay Per Click for us. We are now cross promoting this on social media so it’s allowing both businesses to reach different followers.
3. Get a blog ghost written. You provide some rough guidelines and someone magically turns this into an exciting and well honed article. We’ve just tried this out with someone we met on Freelance Heroes and the result was impressive.
We are always interested to hear what business owners want to read about so if there are any areas of web design you’d like us to write about, let us know.
